The VFW Auxiliary to Robert V. Lindsey Post 10041 in Bethel, Alaska, was established on January 19, 1968, with 10 charter members. Our mission is to provide unwavering support for veterans, their families, and the community through national, state, and local programs. We promote patriotism, volunteerism, and community service while honoring uncommon heroes.
As part of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary (vfwauxiliary.org), we focus on assisting veterans with benefits, medical needs, and family support. Annually, we donate approximately $217,800 (as of 2024-25) to various initiatives, including scholarships, cancer assistance, and youth activities. Our efforts include events like flag retirement ceremonies, wreaths on veterans’ graves, turkey giveaways, and providing 100 bikes and helmets to local kids through partnerships like BVESA.
We also host member events such as “Bras & Bros,” Christmas gatherings, trivia nights, and Mardi Gras celebrations to foster camaraderie. Join us to honor your veteran—eligibility includes spouses, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren of eligible U.S. veterans (must be U.S. citizens or nationals, at least 16 years old).
